Dr. Ramsay’s office is happy to announce we have been contracted with the following new insurance plans:
Florida Blue Select PPO and EPO
Florida Blue Medicare HMO
Humana Gold Plus
Humana Premier HMO
If you have any of these plans, or have recently changed to one, and would like to set up Dr. Ramsay to be your Primary Care Physician, please contact our office. We will happily set you up an appointment to get acquainted!
Also, if you’re thinking about changing to Dr. Ramsay, but would like more information, feel free to stop by or call and we will gladly set up a time for you to meet Dr. Ramsay and the staff.
Starting on April 1, 2014, our office is now offering a new way for you to help manage your healthcare: The Patient Portal.
The Patient Portal is a special site designed to allow you to view your lab results, patient history and important medical documents from home! It’s a secure web portal designed by Quest Diagnostics that lets you contact Dr. Ramsay directly and access your test results as soon as they are available.
This tool is handy not only for faster access to your test results, but also for managing your information between doctors. Whenever Dr. Ramsay receives documents from specialists or hospitals regarding you, she will share this information with you on your personal Portal. This allows you to manage all of your medical records in one convenient place.
All of your information on the Portal is protected, and only Dr. Ramsay’s office and you (once you make an account) will have access to it. The information in the Portal is Protected Health Information so please be cautious when downloading, printing or saving documents from the Portal onto unprotected flash drives or computers.
To register for you own Patient Portal, visit the My Quest website: My Quest Home
Having Trouble creating your Portal?
Dr. Ramsay’s office has created a handy tutorial to help you get set up: Patient Portal Tutorial
You can also contact our office if you have any questions regarding the Portal.
NOTE: The Portal’s Direct Messaging system is not to be used for Emergencies or Urgent Matters.
Due to the new mandates created as part of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), certain changes have been made in our office, effective January 1, 2014.
Please note that all prescription refills, lab orders, radiology orders (xray, mammogram, etc.), and referrals MUST be accompanied by an office visit.
We can no longer write prescriptions or create any orders over the phone or without the patient physically present.
These changes are due to the new restrictions within the Affordable Care Act which are designed to reduce insurance and identity fraud in medical procedures, and, as these are Federal law, cannot be changed or broken by anyone in our office.
THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
We understand that this will be an inconvenience to patients, so, to help reduce the amount of visits required to manage your healthcare, Dr. Ramsay has adapted her office procedures to make your visits as efficient as possible.
To help us, please bring your medications to EVERY appointment, as well as any paperwork you may need Dr. Ramsay to fill out/sign. Dr. Ramsay will now create your annual Lab and Test Orders in your office visits so you do not need to return to get them. PLEASE DO NOT LOSE YOUR ORDERS.
We will try to help you to navigate these new rules as best we can so we can continue to provide you the best quality healthcare. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
